1.Be positive
When you meet someone new that you like and you want to earn his or hers trust, make sure and try and have a positive perspective when you are around that person. No one likes to hear someone complain all the time about their job or personal life. Try and focus on the positive events or thing that you have in your life, like your hobbies or plans for the future. For example holidays you would like to go to and plans or new things you would like to learn.
2.Learn to make compliments
If you see a certain change in that persons appearance, make sure you reassure their choice by making arguments and compliments. Try and also motivate your compliment. For example, if they got a new haircut, tell them not only that they look good, but also why that haircut fits them. It might lighten up their figure or their eyes.
3.Be trustworthy
If the person you are trying to impress leaves for a holiday and asks you to take care of their pet or water their plants, make sure you do a good job, listen to what you have to do and follow the instructions. Some plants like bonsai trees need special attention when it comes to water and temperature, but also light. Even feeding the fish can seem like an easy job, but just make sure you show that you’re a responsible person.
4. Keep your word
If you promise something to them, make sure you act upon it. Don’t make plans you don’t intend to respect. You will only get that person angry and it is possible they will never trust you when it comes to planning and promises, afterwards. Place reminders for what you have to do and plan any existing chores. Don’t change your mind at the last moment, when it would be a shame if you turned back. Even if you discover you wouldn’t actually enjoy ending the plan, ask the person if he or she indeed wants to continue and tell them about your feelings but if they insist, gladly follow their lead.
5. Don’t be late
Be it a date or a book you promised to borrow, just make sure you don’t postpone too many times. If you do that you leave the impression that you don’t actually care about that person and that they are bothering you with their requests. No one likes to wait for someone for too long especially if it’s raining. If you happen to be a little bit late, make sure you compensate through a small gesture, bi bringing something sweet or offering to buy coffee later on.
6. Interests
Share common interests. If you don’t have anything in common, see what you can adapt from your part. Try doing some activities that the person you like enjoys doing. You might find at the end that you enjoy collecting insects or going dancing every Saturday night. Also try and make the other person become interested in what you like to do and explain to them the importance of the activities. Tell them why you like to go fishing and getting eaten alive by mosquitoes at 5 AM in the morning. If they don’t understand at least they will know why you enjoy certain activities.
7. Learn to listen
Make the person open up to you and learn to listen and lead the conversation in a productive way. If you do this, with time, they will progressively start trusting you and end up asking you for advice. Make sure you understand the situation and show empathy. Imagine yourself in their situation and also take into consideration their personality as an influence in the decision making process.
8.Birthday reminder
If the person you like and want to gain their trust has his or hers birthday coming up, Bing up conversations regarding what they would need or want at the moment. Make sure you place a reminder on that day, but also place one before their birthday date so you can find out what they would want for a present. Don’t ask directly and make sure you save up some money beforehand.
9.Unexpected humor
Try and have a positive attitude and try different types of jokes or funny stories to be able to identify what kind of humor they appreciate. Then you can build on that and easily make them laugh while in your presence. Laughter is a great way to help you build a relationship based upon trust and also tends to loosen up the atmosphere by making it more relaxed. And opened attitude regarding things is always a good thing when it comes to socializing.
10. Make them feel safe
Safety is an important factor when it comes to relationships and trust. Make the person feel confident regarding their own abilities to care of themselves through advice and patience. Also be prepared to be tested no matter the situation, but don’t become overly protective. Remember the saying “A friend in need is a friend indeed” when it comes to urgent, unexpected situations and react with calm and maturity.
