2. Multi-purpose furniture
Given the fact that you do not have a lot of space to work with, the main thing you need to think about is functionality. Just because in your old room, apartment or house you were thought that the kitchen area is for kitchen stuff while the living room is for reading and the bedroom is for sleeping, forget about all that. Make every part of your small space enjoyable and use up as much space as you can, even if you did not thought of it at first. For example, place a vintage lamp on your kitchen cupboard.
4. Creative storage
Embrace open storage and do not give in the idea of clustering a lot of things in a corner of your room or in a drawer. Try keeping everything organized, that way, even if you do have a lot of stuff in a small space, the place will still look great.
5. Bring your own touch
If you have a small space, then you do not have a lot of things to put your fingerprint on so take advantage of everything you have. Use stickers to brighten up your kitchen appliances or walls.

Mirrors create an effect of open space so by placing mirrors in strategic places around your apartment or room, you can make the space look bigger. However, you still need to think about functionality so do not place a mirror facing your window, because then you will not be able to take advantage of the natural light.

Choose a wall and an object like the TV or your bed as a focal point. Try setting pieces of art-work on the wall, framing your focal object and create a corner entirely dedicated to it. This way, when someone enters the room, their eyes will be immediately attracted by your focal point rather than the small space.
