Birds do it, bees do it, even educated fleas do it. At least that’s how to song goes. Sex does a person good, sex health benefits have been touted for decades, but these days, when the smartphones keep us permanently online, always available, a new type of sexual encounter was born: sexting, the act of having sex through text messages. If you know all too well about sexting, then you also must know that there are some rules of sexting one must never break. Read on and take notes, you never know when you need to send a kinky text!
10. Too Drunk to Drive…
… then you’re probably too drunk to sext. We know what you’re thinking right now But that’s when the mood strikes! and we know you’re right, but if you’re too drunk then nothing good will ever come out of sexting. Just imagine the amount of cringing you will be doing in the morning. Is it worth it? Ask yourself this before you hit send.
9. Don’t Use Code Words
Saying carrot instead of penis is lame and childish and if you say it, then you shouldn’t deserve to be sexting. You’re an adult, therefore you should be using adult words. Besides, using kinky words is half the fun of sexting, isn’t it?
8. Delete Messages If the Other Person Asks You To
For sexting to work, the two (or more, you kinky bastard!) people need to trust each other, so be a sport and erase all the messages after you’re done sexting if the other person asks you nicely to do so. Don’t keep them to show your friends, that’s just nasty.
7. Ask, Don’t Beg
When it comes to pictures, one needs to be very careful because things can go south very fast. The most important thing you need to keep in mind when you plan on asking for pictures is to ask politely and try your best not to beg. Begging has never been attractive (unless both partners are into that, but that’s a whole ‘nother fetish).
6. Don’t Say You’ll Do Something You Know You Won’t
You know that age-old saying don’t let your mouth write a check that your a** can’t cash? That’s exactly what I’m talking about. Don’t let your mouth say you’re willing to do something that you know you would never do, just because it looks great in writing. Be honest!
5. Don’t Kill the Mood
One of the most important rules of sexting is to try to not kill the mood. Don’t text things like My mom is calling me or I need to pee. Or if at one point let’s say you decide you no longer want to sext, then inform your partner in a gentle manner, such as How about we talk about this tomorrow instead of I don’t want to talk right now anymore.
4. You Need To Trust the Person You’re Sexting To
You need to trust them to be honest with you and to maintain (if that is what you prefer) confidentiality. If you don’t trust them, then you won’t be able to unleash your inner demon while you’re sexting and that will affect the quality of your sexts.
3. Don’t Go Too Far
Always try to maintain a balance with your sex conversation. Let the other person set the pace and only push the boundaries when you feel it could work. Don’t start the conversation with the dirtiest of texts, because nobody likes to dive right in. Also, if you feel that the other person does not like something you’ve just said, don’t act all awkward, relax and don’t say it again.
2. Think About the Timing
So you’re in the mood to send a sext, but you don’t know if the timing is right to start a kinky conversation. Think about what that person is doing. Are they at work, getting bored or working hard? Are they at school? You can never be 100% sure that your sext will arrive at the opportune moment, but you can do your best and try to time it well… and hope for the best.
1. Don’t Take Too Long Before Replying
A sext is not a normal text message you receive, to reply whenever you have time. If you’re engaged in sexting, then that is all you’re doing at that moment. You can’t go grocery shopping and sext at the same time. So, do yourself and the person you’re sexting to a favor and always reply as soon as possible. You can take some time to think about what naughty and dirty thing you’re going to say, but don’t take too long.
Would you like to add any other rules of sexting? We’d love to hear what you think about this issue, so how about you leave us your thoughts in the comment section below?
