Not all heroes wear capes. There are some celebrities out there who, not only have managed to not let the luxury of their lifestyles blind them, but that were capable of stepping up and saving someone’s life. These are 10 Starlets Who Are Real-Life Superheroes.
Rapper T.I. managed the amazing accomplishment of talking a man out of his suicidal mission. On his way to the recording studio, the rap star received word that a man was on top of a 22-story building and was threatening to jump off.
After getting in touch with a radio dispatch inside of the building, he delivered a message to the man via a video recording. In the recording, he was talking about how nothing was worth giving up life for. He gave up on his attempt then retreated inside of the building and sat down to chat with the celebrity.
#2 Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise isn’t a newcomer to the world of benevolent deeds. In one instance, he was the witness of a car accident. In response, he called 911 and stayed with the victim until the arrival of the authorities. Moreover, he followed her to the hospital and even offered to pay for her expenses upon finding out that she had no medical insurance.
In another situation, he was with his then-wife Nicole Kidman on their private yacht when they witnessed another boat going ablaze. The two of them managed to rescue together all five of the passengers.
#3 Vin Diesel
There is something about the Fast and Furious star that inspires almost instant trust. On a seemingly normal day, while taking a motorcycle stroll in the streets, Diesel noticed that the car that was in front of him suddenly lost control and went off the track, eventually burning into flames.
The actor kept his composure and rushed to the aid of the passengers, managing to unbuckle the two children on board and take them out of the scorching vehicle. He then calmly instructed the rest of the people in the front of the car on what to do.
#4 Harrison Ford
Before we get on with this, let it be known that it’s a common occurrence for the actor to lend his private helicopter to the local authorities in Wyoming for search and rescue missions. One day, two women who were hiking encountered some difficulties when one of them declared that she wasn’t feeling so green, which meant they wouldn’t be able to go back down.
Her friend led her to a meadow, called for help, and awaited the arrival of the help. Much to their dismay, the pilot inside of the just-landed helicopter was no one but Harrison Ford himself. He welcomed the two hikers inside of the vehicle and was apparently cool even when the sick woman threw up over his chairs.
#5 Kate Winslet
When Rose went back to rescue Jack in Titanic, some of us must have been slightly puzzled that someone would go out of their way to do something so risky. Who does that in real life, anyway? The actress behind the character, Kate Winslet, apparently did.
She was attending a private party at the estate of billionaire Richard Branson alongside other 35 guests when a fire suddenly broke out and ruined everyone’s fun. The actress led her children to safety and then returned into the blazes to take out Branson’s 90-year-old grandmother.
#6 Ryan Gosling
The movie star talked about the whole incident during an interview. In fact, it was actually captured on camera by a fan, though we’re unsure whether the footage is still up today. Ryan Gosling was just minding his own business when he noticed a fight breaking out in the middle of the street.
After intervening and telling both sides to cut it, Gosling later found out that the reason behind the fight was the painting of one of the “warriors.” A man was apparently circling one of his paintings, but instead of buying it, he decided that stealing it was the way to go.
#7 Arnold Schwarzenegger
The actor and governor’s Hawaiian vacation took a sudden dark turn when he noticed he struggles of another vacationer who seemed to be drowning. The Terminator star took a dive among the waves of the ocean and approached the man in distress, who seemingly wasn’t able to swim back to the shore because of some awful cramps.
Schwarzenegger seated the man on a boogie board then herded him back to the beach. He sat there with him until he managed to recover his breath and got well. We don’t know about you, but we think we’d trust Rambo when he told us we’d be safe and well.
#8 Demi Moore
In the era of technology, you don’t need to be present somewhere in person in order to leave a mark on someone’s life. The actress was scrolling through her Twitter feed when she noticed a fan’s mention, which conveyed a worrying message.
Threatening that they were about to take their life, Moore responded to the silent call for help by asking them if they were serious. This simple action brought awareness to the situation of the Twitter user and, soon, Demi Moore’s followers called authorities, who managed to track down the despair-ridden person.
#9 Garth Brooks
You hear a knock on your door. When you open it, you see country star Garth Brooks standing in your threshold. That should, theoretically, be a moment of joy, but it wasn’t the case for two 10 and, respectively, 14-year-old boys who were home alone.
Brooks approached them to warn them that a dangerous grass fire was rapidly spreading and was soon to reach their house. He picked them up and drove them away to safety through thick layers of smoke. Fortunately, the fire was halted right before it reached the house, which came out of it unscathed.
#10 Nomar Garciaparra
The Boston Red Sox player witnessed a bewildering sight when he noticed two women falling into the Boston Harbor. He reportedly took a leap from a 20-foot high balcony into the water, grabbed a hold of the two women (one of them being unconscious) and brought them to safety back to the shore. The most amazing part in all of this is that the woman whose consciousness still hadn’t left her recognized Garciaparra and expressed her awe at the identity of her rescuer.
