Today, more than ever, celebrities seem to rule the Internet. No matter where you turn to, you see at least a couple of fame hungry celebrities doing a coffee run or going to Pilates classes. The photos sell because people want to see that. We create the monsters and we feed them. No matter how much people say they hate about Kim Kardashian, they still give her the time of day and she’s still crazy famous and earning half a million dollars for attending events, such as the Vienna Opera Ball where she was an escort for 81 year old Richard Lugner. Yes, that really happened. Let’s see what we love and hate about fame hungry celebrities.
10. HATE: We Get Updates Without Wanting
When The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco was dating Superman: Man of Steel star Henry Cavill, the whole world knew about it, because they made it sure of it. The paparazzi were called every time they went out of the house, which was a lot (and they only dated for two weeks!). And we say that they were called, we mean it… someone on their team made sure they were there to catch them get coffee… every single day.
9. LOVE: They Give Us Conversational Topics
We know for sure that when Gisele Bundchen opens her mouth, something controversial comes out. Something that will have people talking and debating for a long time! For example, when she was pregnant she said that many women, when pregnant, turn their bodies into garbage disposal bins. She’s still up there on her Victoria’s Secret model of a high horse, judging all the women who gain weight during pregnancy. If that statement doesn’t call for debate, then we don’t know what will.
8. HATE: They’ll Do Things Just for Attention
Kim Kardashian’s wedding is the strongest example we could give of a celebrity doing something just for attention. It only lasted 72 days, basically because they weren’t interested in each other, but the fame and money. I don’t care what anybody on their team says, that show of a wedding was a set up and we hate being taken for fools.
7. LOVE: They’re Entertaining
Say what you will about fame hungry celebrities, they’re many things, but there’s one thing they’re not and that’s boring. If you’re in the mood for some light entertaining, you can just turn on your TV or visit a celebrity gossip website and you’re ready to kill a half an hour reading up on their latest shenanigans.
6. HATE: They’ll Do Anything to Appear in the Media
That’s the understatement of the week! They’ll go on set up dates, arrange fake drama to happen, adopt pets or pay people to do things to them. Whatever gets them in the newspapers and on TV! Reality shows are the perfect example: they’re scripted and they’re the worst!
5. LOVE: They Let Us Into Their Lives
Still, reality shows exist because there are people who watch them. People watch reality shows because they’re curious about how the rich and famous. Because we love to see that celebrities are just like us, when in fact, they’re nothing like us. Just because a celebrity does their own shopping, doesn’t make then just like us.
4. HATE: They Set Some Sort of Standards
While we watch those reality shows, something happens to our brain. We begin to have different standards. We’re not just looking at that person’s life, we’re buying it. It’s the best advertising one can do. We watch them not only because we’re curious, but because, secretly, we’d love to know what is like to be famous.
3. LOVE: Fame Hungry Celebrities Are Full of Drama
It seems like there is so much drama in a fame hungry celebrity’s life that you could fill up one hundred normal people’s lives with it. For example the age-old feud between LeAnn Rimes and Brandi Glanville has a new episode every week or so. They just can’t get enough of cat fighting! I wonder if they don’t get tired of all the drama.
2. HATE: They Can’t Seem to Keep Their Mouth Shut
Ever since Twitter celebrities have a voice that seems to be the loudest on the internet. Some celebrities have resisted the urge to join the social media website, but others have embraced tweeting and they let us know about everything that happens in their lives. Isn’t that thoughtful of them?
1. LOVE: Fame Hungry Celebrities Make Us Feel Better About Ourselves
Isn’t it nice when you look at some of the most messed up, fame hungry celebrities and then look at your own life and think Man, my life’s good?! I mean, they’re rich and all, but you’ve got your head on your shoulders and your life, in comparison to theirs, just seems so much more relaxed and settled. Miley Cyrus tends to make anyone feel mature, even when we’re not.
