There’s a golden rule, one that dictates that you should never ask someone if they’re gay. Firstly, it is none of your business and secondly, it’s none of your business. Celebrities are asked about their personal lives on a daily basis. Some give in and choose to talk about it, allowing the media into their homes, metaphorically (some not so metaphorically), while other want to keep their private lives private. If and when a gay celebrity chooses to come out of their closet, it is their choice and theirs alone, so applaud those who have done it, not questioning their motives, simply admiring and supporting them. Let’s take a look at 10 famous gay celebrities!
10. Ricky Martin
Ricky Martin chose the hard road back in the day. When he exploded onto the music scene all the girls went wild. He would take them to the edge on insanity and leave them there with his famous shake of the bon bon. But Ricky kept his secret of being gay, as many famous people do, because he feared that once he would step out of the closet, his fame would diminish, so he stayed in. He only came out when things calmed down and now he has two beautiful twin boys with his partner.
9. Zachary Quinto
Zachary Quinto is a handsome man and women and men drool over him. He officially came out as gay in October 2011. He had always been a supporter of gay rights, but after the suicide of teenager Jamey Rodemeyer he said that he had realized that life without publicly acknowledging it is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality.
8. Queen Latifah
Queen Latifah is on our list because we love her and we think she’s brilliant. She’s not, however, quite out, just yet. She’s been photographed with her lover and personal trainer on vacation, so people started talking about whether she was straight or gay. She’s also called the LGBT community my peeps, but never said the words I am gay. It’s her choice and we respect it.
7. Wentworth Miller
Wentworth Miller was the bad boy in Prison Break and back then nobody even suspected he was gay. He only came out as a result of an invitation he received from Russia to attend the Winter Olympics. He gave the most badass reply: Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline. How beautifully put!
6. Neil Patrick Harris
Neil Patrick Harris is one of those few actors who managed to make a successful jump from child star to maturity. He came out in 2006 when he said: I am happy to dispel any rumors or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love. In case you were the last person on earth who didn’t know this, Yes, Barney Stinson is gay! Thank God!

Good for them and we wish them all the best in the world!
4. Cynthia Nixon
Cynthia Nixon rose to fame with her role as Miranda on Sex and the City. She identifies as a bisexual and has this to say about her sexuality: I don’t really feel I’ve changed. I’d been with men all my life, and I’d never fallen in love with a woman. But when I did, it didn’t seem so strange. I’m just a woman in love with another woman.
