Right now you are watching one of those holiday special TV programs with The Sound of Music and listening to music that fills your soul. So, we want to share with you the positive emotions of Christmas music. Christmas movies contain some of the best examples of themed songs so here are ten of them:
1. Baby It’s Cold Outside in Elf (2003)
Zooey Deschanel made her singing debut with Leon Redbone with the song Baby It’s Cold Outside, in a voice almost as beautiful as herself. Jim Reeves’ Jingle Bells is also a pleasant surprise.
2. Try a Little Tenderness in This Christmas (2007)
This soundtrack with R & B influences for the movie with Mekhi Phifer and Regina King depicts the pop star and actor Chris Brown singing Try a Little Tenderness.
3. White Christmas in Holiday Inn. (1942)
White Christmas was a big hit of Irving Berlin, the song being sung by Bing Crosby and Marjorie Reynolds (accompanied by Martha Mears), suggesting the Christmas spirit. The song is kind of Stairway to Heaven of Christmas songs.
4. Mom Returns in Home Alone (1990)
We cannot talk about winter holiday without at least mentioning Home Alone. John Williams has managed to create a Christmas music full of suspense and gloomy at the same time, outlining some of the highlights of the film, like Mom Returns and Finale.
5. The Christmas Song in Christmas with the Kranks (2004)
This 2004 film didn’t exactly achieved popularity, but the movie soundtrack manages to compensate otherwise with a not so remarkable production. The Raveonettes sign The Christmas Song and the Christmas classic from The Ramones Merry Christmas (I Do Not Want to Fight Tonight) opens the soundtrack.
6. Four Christmases (2008)
Neither did the movie with Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon managed to position itself high in the box office, but the soundtrack managed to compensate with Tom Petty, Robbers on High Street and Sarah McLachlan on the same disc.
7. Put a Little Love in Your Heart in Scrooged (1988)
Danny Elfman was the author of another soundtrack for an unconventional Christmas movie before Nightmare before Christmas. And it was Scrooged. Put a Little Love in Your Heart has become synonymous with the Christmas season, although in itself it was not a Christmas song.
8. A Christmas Story (1983)
Carl Zittrer and Paul Zaza managed to create a song in the 80s with the feel of the 30s.
9. Be Our Guest in Frozen (2013)
The music number performed by the trolls is perhaps the most successful song from Frozen: Be Our Guest and the anniversary music number of the group will conquer both adults and children. We haven’t figured it out if it is the characters (such naughty Baby Troll) or the tracks take us back to classic Disney, or the unexpected gospel moment at the end that make the songs memorable, but you will definitely love Frozen.
10. Let It Go in Frozen (2013)
In the film, the part of Elsa (Idina Menzel) is an incredible hymn of freedom, balanced only by the spectacular display of animation in which she builds a magnificent ice palace. If the ice on the screen can give you chills, the music will warm your heart.
Do you know any other songs you believe are appropriate for the winter holiday season?
