Do you remember how was life like before the DIY trend reached you? Most probably you threw a lot of stuff away, not knowing that certain idems can be reused, reorganized, re-everything in order to make up a new object. DIY is all about recycling, imagination and saving money. If you have ever assembled by yourself a piece of furniture from Ikea, then you are perfect for these ten easy DIY projects we are about to show you.
And like we said, you’re going to be done in ten minutes or less.
1. The bandeau top
This is something you can easily make out of old T-shirts you don’t use anymore (either they are not fashionable anymore or you ripped them by mistake at some point). Just fallow the easy instructions in the picture above. The cool thing about this project is that you can change the piece of fabric in the middle anytime you want and it’s like having a lot of bandeau models in just one item. It’s great when you want to color coordinate it with the rest of your outfit.
2. The cake decoration
We always see those amazing cake decorations and we think how do they do those things. Well, it’s easier than you think. This DIT project can transform an ordinary cake into a real piece of art. All you need is melted chocolate or sugar (a little warm), baking paper and a small plastic bag or one of those plastic recipients used to pour the mixture. Use your imagination and draw with the chocolate any type of pattern, let it harden and you will be able to easily remove it because the baking paper has oil in it. Easy as pie, or better yet, easy as cake.
3. The scented candle
It’s so easy to make your home smell like coffee. For this project, all you need is a simple candle, coffee beans and a porcelain cup. Simply place the coffee beans inside and add the candle in the middle. When you light the candle, all the coffee beans inside will get warm and spread a nice aroma. Plus, it looks great.
4. The photo clock
Find a simple white clock (or make you own using the mechanism from another clock), then place it on the wall. Around it, place some of your framed family photos or print some abstract pictures you can find online. The result is simply magnificent.
5. The flower pots
We don’t know about you, but we easily get bored with plain flower pots. And whenever you change the décor of your home, they will need a change too. Instead of buying new ones and go through the hassle of having to transfer the flower in another pot, simply redecorate the ones you have. With a little bit of glue and confetti (or nice fabric, or newspaper, or lace, or everything you can think of) you will be able to give your flower pots a new look. Your imagination is the limit.
6. The heart
Who says your walls only have to be decorated with paintings? This next DIY project is so easy, a child could do it. All you need is a hammer and some nails. You can either go for the heart shape, as in the picture above, or place the nails in the wall making an abstract pattern. Using thread (any color you like), simply connect all the nails. Cool, right?
7. The shirt
For our next DIY project all you need is a shirt and a good pair of scissors. If you don’t have an old shirt you can use, you can buy one (simple ones are usually cheap). Using your trusty pair of scissors, cut some frills in the lower half of the shirt. At this point, you have two options. Leave it like that, because it looks great, or tie the frills just like in the picture above. Either way, your shirt will look awesome.
8. The shoes
It’s so easy to give your old shoes a new look. For this project you will need a pair of shoes, spray paint and a piece of tape. Create a new pair of shoes by spraying paint on the tip. Use tape to make sure you get a uniform pattern. The cool about this part is that you can apply a different color spray in other occasions, when you get bored if your current color.
9. The skirt
It’s so easy to make a simple straight skirt. If you can’t do it, you can either buy one or buy some fabric and ask a seamstress to do it for you. Now, it’s time to embellish your skirt, to really make it look special. Use the pattern in the picture above or come up with your own.
10. The workout T-shirt
Again, all you need is a good pair of scissor and a steady hand. Simply cut an old T-shirt using the instructions above and you will get a brand new workout T-shirt.
