Follow these seven tips for a successful holiday and we guarantee the only headaches you will have during this period will be from hangovers. Sound good? Let’s see what is there to do.
1. Find the perfect navigation app for your specific destination
If your holiday destination is a city crowded like London, you must necessarily have an application of this type. If you have decided to go by car on vacation, they can offer the best route to get to your destination, avoiding crowded areas. Also, they are very useful when looking for a specific tourist attraction in the city or when you want to know if you should slow down because there are police officers on the lookout. Some of the best navigation apps are Google Maps and Waze. The latter lets you connect to your Facebook account, so you can keep your virtual friends updated with your voyage, make recommendations and brag with a perfect time.
2. Choose the restaurant depending on the preferences of the local people
Most of us choose restaurants in a vacation according to reviewers made by friends or found on the Internet. Most times, they are not the best choices. This is a chance for you to get acquainted with the locals, become friends and ask them to recommend you a really nice traditional restaurant. Also, if you staying in a small place, just take a walk and stop at the restaurant with the most customers. If you pass by a crowded restaurant there are very high chances you can get a delicious meal. If that doesn’t work for you, you can always try McDonald’s, but we have to warn you that this fast food restaurant is very different in some parts of the world.
3. Compare ticket prices across multiple sites
It’s no secret that you can buy a cheaper ticket if you book online in advance. Find sites with promotional offers to see if there are deals on airfare. Sometimes the best deals are offered by the air company itself, because they have certain periods of time when they offer discounts.
4. Set up on your phone an application of the language spoken by inhabitants
Applications such as Duolingo are becoming more and more popular among followers, because they offers free lessons for learning multiple languages. Go over it a few times before you go on vacation, to understand how it works and to have some basic knowledge about your holiday destination. If you don’t have at hand such a facility, you can always use Google Translate or QuickDic. The most important thing is to be prepared.
5. Pack your bag like a pro
No matter where you choose to travel, using a bag will help you save time and money. Things that you should not miss from the bag are: a pair of dark jeans, blouses in earthy colors or in shades of blue, a black cardigan for when you feel a bit cold. Also, it is more useful to pack your clothes by rolling them than to fold them. Here’s a useful tutorial.
6. Take with you a phone battery, just in case
The phone has become indispensable even if you’re on vacation. Prices vary based on the country you are visiting, which means you are likely to acquire one at a higher price. Better pack your own instead.
7. Book a room for one night
Regardless of the time of arrival at your destination, you do not want to walk after a hotel room when you’re on vacation. Also, why spend more time in a hotel which doesn’t offer the services you need.
