Here is everything you have to find out about Mad Max: Fury Road
10. This is the Fourth Movie in the Mad Max Franchise
The series of movies was originally developed by show biz visionary George Miller. Originally, Mel Gibson was “Mad” Max Rockatansky in the first row of three movies – in1979, 1981 and 1985’s Beyond Thunderdome.
During the whole run of previous Mad Max movies, the concept and worldwide overall tone has remained centered on the same story – an Australian dystopian film that is taking place within some post-apocalyptic lands. The men and women who are still living in those regions create their way of surviving with the use of extremely wild vehicles.
9. The Scenario is Concentrated on the Lead Characters Looking to Evade the Rage of a Merciless Leader
The new Mad Max: Fury Road’s action is placed in the year 2060. The entire remaining society is clinging on by a thread as a result of a sequence of disastrous human activities, which has pressured everyone to endure a harsh life within these wastelands. Max is one of the few survivors, but he is on his own and roams the world alone due the loss of his close ones. Max find himself in a very difficult situation after being captured and tortured by the maniacal villain known as King Immortan Joe (in the memorable acting of Hugh Keays-Byrne) and his team of minions, the War Boys.
After he meets one of Immortan Joe’s former female soldiers, Imperator Furiosa, together with group of captive women (The Five Wives), our hero wants to keep them protected from King Immortan Joe. The evil leader looks for them all over the wasteland because of his objective to use his Five Wives to breed the next rulers of mankind in his twisted mind
8. This Movie has been on Stand by for Almost Three Decades
This fourth sequel in the Mad Max franchise has been trapped in the development stage for approximately 25 years now. The project began moving thanks to the movie director and producer George Miller in 2000. At some point, the movie was organized to start filming it back in 2001, but the dramatic attack of 9/11 put the whole schedule on stand-by again. A script for the movie appeared in 2003, and this led to the pre-production procedures going into development in the same year.
But, the film did not obtain any substance once again because of the protection issues over the movie’s organized scheduled filming place in the deserts of Namibia. Even if Mel Gibson was initially selected to continue the role of Mad Max in the famous series, but he left the venture after the production was stopped suddenly with for no obvious reason. After several years have passed with no visible results, Mad Max: Fury Road lastly went on an ongoing mission in 2012 (it finished the filming scenes in Dec 2012).
7. The Movie was Filmed Following a Storyboard Instead of a Conventional Script
During a meeting with the press, the film’s star Charlize Theron exposed that her and the rest of the actors followed a storyboard instead of the traditional script. In addition, she mentioned that they actually filmed a really large scene for almost 140 days.
It was the film’s stars the ones who spread the gossip that there were no scripts. There was some kind of script, but it just was not a standard one, meaning that everyone knew about the scenes marked with numbers. First, it was just the storyboard, and it proved to be helpful, since the crew followed it for around three years. Then, gradually, there was a type of written version of that storyboard, but the whole thing did not seem like a genuine script.
Theron added that she thinks the toughest task for the actors, in order to understand the movie as a whole, was that the film really was just one huge chasing scene. Generally, there are different scenes for any movie, but Mad Max: Fury Road looks and feels like one massive action scene. So, it was as if they filmed the big scene for almost 140 days. This was challenging because every actor came daily and you he or she did not know where to go in a particular scene. The director Gorge Miller was good at knowing exactly what he looked for in very actor and scene and the film was already in his head. So, after some, the all knew that they just had to allow him to do the leading.
6. The Movie was Mainly Shot in the Namib Desert
The entire film’s wasteland scenario came to life after being shot in the arid Namibian Desert. The seaside desert situated in the southeast Africa is famously known as “an area that God created in rage”. Thus, not only is this the oldest desert on the globe (with an age of approximately 55 to 75 million years), but its temperature range can go up to more than 100 degrees or even more.

Its over-the-top tricks and unusual characters and styles are all very essential to Fury Road, just as are the struggling people in it, like Max or Furiosa, but it is the overriding feeling of the movie’s originality, its attempt to be something than just your usual action film, that is the most amazing thing. Mad Max: Fury Road is truly one of a kind, and just like the story it makes, so it is its wonderful violence.
4. The Movie Has Been Belittled for its Apparently Feminist Agenda
While the movie has obtained a mostly positive reaction from the critics and fans, it has also been caught in some debates. A few people have reported its seeming pro-feminist plan. This debate has been sparked due to the significant scene time offered to Charlize Theron’s character and the inclusion of content from the feminist writer Eve Ensler.
