We never like to think of ourselves as annoying, but the truth is everyone is annoying from time to time. Whether it’s at work, in public or online, there are some things that we do that almost always annoy people. If you’re getting weird stares or whispering from people when you’re around them, then probably it’s something you’re doing wrong. If you see that people are unfriending you on social media sites, then maybe you should read up on some Facebook don’ts and try to be a better Facebook friend. Today we’re going to let you in on the 10 ways you’re annoying everyone, hope you enjoy it.
10. You’re a Party Pooper
Ah, party poopers are the worst types of annoying people. They’re the ones who like to do the exact opposite of what everyone else is doing. We’re not saying that if you’re at a party and everybody’s drinking, then you should do, we’re simply suggesting that you keep an open mind and go with the flow. Don’t rain on people’s parade just because you don’t approve of their ways.
9. You Make Weird Sounds
This is one of the unspoken ways you’re annoying everyone. Most people are afraid of telling others they make weird sounds when they’re eating or breathing, because most of the times, it’s not something they do on a conscious level. For example, I have a friend who is the loudest breather I’ve ever met. It took me a while to tell her, but once I did, we started laughing about it and now it doesn’t bother me anymore. She still breathes as if she just finished running a marathon.
8. You Roll Your Eyes
In the Handbook of Gestures That Annoy People rolling your eyes at people is the most annoying habit one can ever have. Do it often if you want to risk getting slapped. When people are talking and you don’t agree or you think they’re full of crap, don’t roll your eyes, simply let them finish and then give them your thoughts on the matter. It’s simple and it’s the grown up way of dealing with things.
7. You Talk in Clichés
Life is hard, but you must endure it and make something of yourself. If you’re the type of person who might like this sort of stuff, then chances are people aren’t too fond of you. We all know the sayings and the motions, but if you want to talk to someone or give them advice, think about it ahead of time and try to make it sound like it comes from your heart, not from a Facebook status you read during your lunch break.
6. You Make Bad Jokes
There are three types of people in this world: people who make good jokes, those who don’t make jokes and people who make bad jokes. Guess who’s going to hell first? Most of the types, these people can’t make the difference between a genuine laugh and a nervous, polite laugh, so they end up thinking that they’re utterly funny. If you think you might be one of those persons, then you should try asking someone you trust if your jokes are bad. They might tell you the truth if you promise you don’t’ get upset.
5. You Refuse Work
Nobody LOVES to work; alright there might be a few people who take pleasure in doing hard work, but most people are normal (i.e. don’t appreciate a lot of work). When you’re at work and your boss gives you something to do, you should just accept it, if it’s something that you’re paid to do. When you refuse the work that you’re supposed to do, it will most definitely be given to someone who’s not paid to do it and they’ll hate you for eternity.
4. You Shout
Most people’s ears are just fine, so there is no need to shout. You won’t get your message across better if you shout; you’ll simply annoy people to no end and give them a heart disease. If you feel the need to shout something, acknowledge it then try to calm down and count to five. In most cases you won’t feel like shouting once you’ve reached five. If you still want to shout, do it in an empty room, not to a human being’s face.
3. You Talk About Private Matters
Your life is not an episode of Sex and the City so stop bragging about how awesome your sex life is or how you and your pookie love simply adore each other. People don’t really like to hear about the sordid details of your life, because most people don’t really care about anyone else but themselves. Stick to one or two good friends and see if they can stomach all the juicy details and stop giving too much information to everybody else you know.
2. You Take Too Many Selfies
How much is too much? Well, in the case of selfies, there is no fixed rule, but if you have more than one or two Facebook profile pictures that are selfies, then you’re either a narcissist or a person who doesn’t have any friends whatsoever that would take your picture. If you combine selfies with a pout and a skimpy outfit, then you can be sure that you’re annoying people. And no, they’re not jealous of you and your incredible body!
1. You’re a Know-It-All
Everybody hates a know-it-all! If you’re pretending you’ve got an answer to every question and if you’re willing to have an opinion about everything and anything, then you’re a know-it-all and most likely people hate you. Try to refrain from telling people what to do, every single step of the way. It’s annoying and it paints you as a control-freak and nobody likes unsolicited advice.
