Often, when we are tried or sad we find refuge in chocolate or other products. There is no need to feel guilty for that, as some of these aliments are here to help us to pass through these times. In order to enhance your mood, you can try some fruits that contain serotonin such as dates, papayas and bananas. It is believed that serotonin contributes to feelings of well-being and happiness.

Exercising is on e of the best things you can do, as they will for sure increase you mental well being. Moreover, it will get your mind off thing, relax you and for sure you will have a good night sleep. You do not need to overdue it also and exercise in a day like a body builder. Maybe a 20 minutes walk will just do the trick.
8. Listen to music
Listening to the calming sound of water will improve your state of mind. You can even assemble a small fountain in your bedroom. If you are close to a lake or to a beach, go for a walk there. While you listen, try to imagine that you are putting all you problems in a box that you are not going to open for a long time. Or you can a more practical approach and make a list with the things that need to be solved the next day. Another option is to listen to music while drinking a cup of chamomile tea.
7. Pamper yourself
There are several options here. I recommend picking something that you have never done before, as this will also break monotony. For example, you could go to a spa for a massage and a body wrap. Treatments often include rubs that attack cellulite or lymphatic massages that cleans your body of toxins. Just think about it: at the end of the day, you will both look good and feel good!
6. Have a hug and a good laugh
Hugging always helps as we as humans need to feel physical contact in order to feel better. It is said that a laugh is the shortest distance between 2 persons. And in the same time, a laugh is the perfect treatment for relaxation: you can try reading some jokes, calling a funny friend or simply watching a comedy. Even the anticipation of laughter can help us to relax while reducing the stress levels in the body.
5. Try aromatherapy
Start by cleaning you home or your bedroom. This might seem silly, but it is very hard to relax in a room that is full of stuff and unorganized. Although there are few medical studies regarding aromatherapy, it is believed that it helps altering a person’s mind, mood and even health. There are several modes of application, such as aerial diffusion, direct inhalation, and my favorite, tropical applications: for general massage or bath. There is a wide variety of oils on the market, but the Lavender, Jasmine, Chamomile and Peppermint are often used for anti-stress, anti-anxiety and as an anti-depressant.
4. Have a bubble bath

If you are a girl, shopping will basically get you out of any possible depression. As opposite to buying, shopping will for certain lift your spirit. Shopping for clothes can meet basic needs, but in the same time it can take a secondary value, such as creativity. On the other hand, buying a new phone for example may be actually a self actualization process.
2. Go for drinks
It is very important to set aside some time in order to gossip with your friends. Having someone to discuss your problem with can provide a re comforting feeling. Invite some of the over and have something to think. A fresh perspective over things is always helpful.
1. Practice meditation and breathing techniques
Start by shutting down everything that might interrupt you from meditation: phone, computer, or other devices. Choose a comfortable position and try to clean your mind from all thoughts and emotions from your mind by concentrating on your breathing. Breathing exercises are a good way to relax, reduce tension, and relieve stress, so try deep breaths as they are the best way to lower your stress. While breathing this way, try to think about something inspiring such as a cote or a famous leader. It will take some focusing at first, but after you master it, the effort is worth the while.
