1. The Longjing tea (Dragon Well)

This tea assortment is famous in certain China provinces and represents a green tea variety. In order to stop the fermentation process, the leaves are friend in pans beforehand. This technique is used for most tea assortments. This tea is great for drinking because it contains Vitamin C and amino-acids. The name “Dragon Well” comes from the preparation method, the water needs to be boiled and then after cooling it is poured into the recipient.

2. Biluochun

This tea is regarded very highly by Chinese tea experts. It was ranked as the first Chinese green tea by the author of the tea encyclopedia Cha Shuo. Longjing tea came second; Liu An Gua Pian came third. This assortment is so delicate that you can use one kilogram of tea leaves to extract 14,000 to 15,000 tea shoots.

3. Huangshan Maofeng tea

This is a green tea assortment that is produced in south eastern interior province of China. It represents one of the most popular and loved assortments and can almost always be found on the China Famous Tea list. The tea is grown, like many other famous varieties of green tea, near the Yellow Mountain. The translation for the tea is “Yellow Mountain Fur Peak” because of the small white hairs that cover the leaves. After processing the leaves also tend to take the shape of a mountain. Locals suggest that fresh tea buds of this assortment resemble orchid buds.

4. Junshan Yinzhen

“Silver Needle(s) of the Gentleman Mountain” is an assortment of Yellow tea and it is one of Chinese Famous Teas. It is a calming and flavored tea perfect for an afternoon in the garden .If you have not tried it now it’s your chance.

5. Keemun

The name has been the English spelling for “Qimen” since the colonial era. The tea has a short history being first produced in 1875 by a servant that travelled to the province to learn secrets about the production of the black tea. Before this tea was discovered, only green tea was available in the area. The tea quickly gained popularity not only in the province but also abroad, England becoming a big fan. This tea has become the most preeminent element of the famous English breakfast tea blend.

6. Dà Hóng Páo

The legend states that this tea has cured illnesses. The emperor on that time sent servants to cover the three bushes of tea with red robes. The three bushes are considered to be located on a rock on Mount Wuyi and are still venerated. The tea is known for its expensive value. Another story states that US President Nixon purchased 50g of this expensive tea, meaning half of the year’s harvest. These events are dates 1972 and are just rumors. Or are they really?

7. Lu’an Melon Seed also known as Liuan Leaf

This assortment is a Chinese famous green tea and is listed on all China Famous Tea lists. The literal translation is Liu An Melon Seed Tea. The name describes the shape of the leaves after processing, leaves that resemble melon seeds, being flat and oval.

8. Tieguanyin

Tieguanyin produced in different areas of Anxi have different gastronomic characteristics. Production has extended to many regions even outside of China and there are two legends behind this tea: Wei and Wang. The tea is not only very popular but is also very expensive and very tasty.

9. Taiping Houkui

The name translation is “peaceful monkey leader” and the tea is grown at the foot of Huangshan in Taiping County, Anhui. The tea is very popular and it even won the “King of Tea” award in China Tea Exhibition in the year 2004.

Xinyang-Down

10. Xinyang Maojian tea

It is designated as a China Famous Tea and is one type of green tea that was first produced in the north of China.It has been considered throughout history as being one of the top ten teas of China. Very popular among the market it is usually drank after a hard hay of work. The tea indeed has a relaxing, calming effect.
