Halloween is one of the most exciting holidays we have, one that is equally exciting for children and adults. There are few things in life that are more fun that dressing up in a favorite childhood hero and going out asking strangers for candy. And because the option of a ‘trick’ is always on the table you have to be on your guard for this family holiday, especially as there are monsters about! Here are the funniest and most thrilling costumes that we have seen online this Halloween.
10. New Yorker
A Halloween costume has to be recognizable to be funny and it has to be recent, more than anything else. With Sandy Rolling into town on the East Coast this storm-battered New Yorker outfit is sure to have drawn quite a few laughs.
9. Alcohol and Cigarettes
Isn’t that cute and so very, very wrong? This father and son duo are most definitely not suitable for anyone under 21 and they better make sure that nobody dressed as Ron White catches a glimpse of them this year…
8. Rollerblading Batman
Holy Rollerblading Smokes, Batman! This gentleman is obviously not bothered by the cold or by the fact that he is destroying ou image of a childhood icon. On the other hand he does manage to make the 60’s Batman seem downright manly by comparison.
7. Breaking Bad’s Heisenberg
Breaking Bad is one of the best shows ever made and it was certain that at least a few bearded balding men would dress as our favorite chemistry teacher turned meth manufacturer. But a kid? That’s just downright wrong… but hilarious!
6. Lil Wayne
Speaking of things that you shouldn’t dress up your kid as, how about a rapper that has spent a stint in jail for drugs and weapon charges? This Lil’ Wayne is a little to “Lil” to be going as a rapper this year… Speaking of which, what did the parents go as? 2pac and Lil Kim?
5. Jedi Joker and Slave Girl Harley Quinn
A “Meta” trend in recent years is doing mash-ups of or reinterpreting beloved characters. That’s how we got Pirate Deadpool, R2D2 Bender and the Dogvengers (Dogs dressed as the Avengers, Black Widow conspicuously absent). Here’s our pick of the best Mask-up this year: The Joker as a Jedi with Harley Quinn as Slave Girl Leia. With Disney announcing that it bought the rights to Star Wars Yesterday morning they might as well have gone as Mickey and Minnie. I guess the joke’s on them…
4. The Avengers
With the movie breaking all box office records known to man and Asgaardian god the Avengers were sure to feature preeminently amongst this year’s costume pick. Here’s one of the best groups we’ve seen so far, particularly as it’s a single family doing the portraying!
3. Batman and Bane
Father-son duos were big this year as were Batman and Bane. Like the Avengers above this was to be expected given the popularity of The Dark Knight Rises. This father and son duo bring it all together for the best of both worlds.
2. Dr. Arliss Loveless
Here’s an unforgettable character from a movie we’d all just rather forget. Dr. Loveless was the villain from the 1999 Will Smith – Kevin Kline feature Wild Wild West. While the movie was terrible the villain was quite good, played by none other than Kenneth Branagh. This costume was not only good, but appropriate as the man wearing it is actually disabled. Props to him, we say!
1. Aliens Loader Baby
This has got to be one of the best costumes I’ve ever seen. Not only is the loader scale-appropriate for the baby but the sheer amount of work done for it means that we are dealing with a die-hard aliens fan here. Whoever this baby is, she’s a lucky girl. Her father is a great guy and her mother is understanding enough to let her husband walk around in a giant bright yellow robot suit with her baby strapped to his chest.
Happy Halloween Everybody!
